Operations Director

Marklyn Louis-Bailey (she/her) is a dynamic leader in the field of political operations and nonprofit management. With a proven track record in mobilizing, organizing, and coalition-building, Marklyn has dedicated her career to advancing progressive politics and advocating for social justice.

As Scale for Change’s Operations Director, Marklyn oversees critical functions of the organization, including strategic planning and programmatic priority setting. The self-appointed CEO of Spreadsheets, Marklyn keeps the team on schedule by meticulously managing the reporting, financials and business strategies that drive the organization’s value-driven campaigns. 

Marklyn’s broad range of experiences has given her a deep understanding of the political landscape. Her foray into politics began nearly a decade ago as a community organizer for the Virginia League for Planned Parenthood. Since then, she has held pivotal roles such as Senior Operations Associate at the Aspen Institute and Director of Operations & Scheduling at the John King for Governor Campaign.  From leading grassroots campaigns that shifted local policy to spearheading voter mobilization efforts that delivered key election wins, Marklyn has a proven track record of translating strategic plans into tangible results. Her expertise in organizing and advocacy has been instrumental in driving positive change and furthering Scale for Change’s mission.

Marklyn received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Rutgers University in Camden, NJ. A first-generation Haitian-American, Marklyn resides in Montgomery County, Maryland with her partner and child. When she’s not working, Marklyn spends her time on the hunt for the best Caribbean food this side of the Atlantic, belting out Beyoncé tunes, planning her next trip and spending time with her family.
