2021 Virginia Election

All eyes were on Virginia for their 2021 gubernatorial election - it was the first major election after President Biden’s victory, and the first major race without Donald Trump in the White House. Both Democrats and Republicans believed this race would help them get a sense of how voters are feeling - and how the 2022 midterms and even the 2024 presidential election may pan out.

And importantly, Virginians’ constitutional rights and freedoms — including the right to safe, legal abortion — were at stake. With Terry McAuliffe being a former Governor, Planned Parenthood Advocates of Virginia PAC knew that, if elected, he would continue to stand up for Virginians on reproductive health issues, and were committed to ensuring he also had a supportive legislature. PPAVPAC partnered with Scale for Change to run a canvass in a county that Governor Ralph Northan secured by a slim margin in the previous gubernatorial election.

While the campaign didn’t take home every race, Scale for Change exceeded our knock attempt goal without any additional investment from the PAC. Ultimately, Scale reduced the contracted door cost from $8.55/knock to $6.57/knock by surpassing our goal by 10,000 doors.
